Mike Gorenchtein, M.D.

Dr. Mike Gorenchtein is originally from Vancouver, Canada, where he completed his undergraduate education and Master’s in Oncology at the University of British Columbia. He then embarked on a journey to Ireland, where he received his medical degree from the University of Limerick. Dr. Gorenchtein is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, having completed his residency and fellowship training at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Dr. Gorenchtein’s passion for superior and innovative medical care is evident through his achievements. As Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Netflix-featured Lenox Hill Hospital, Dr. Gorenchtein spearheaded the outpatient geriatrics department, securing $400,000 in grants and opening a new 3,600-square-foot medical practice. As a former Director of a concierge program in Manhattan, he has a talent for optimizing health outcomes through patient-centered care, earning praise and awards for excellence in patient care and clinical teaching.

Dr. Gorenchtein has also played leading roles in clinical trials and is widely published in elite medical journals, such as Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine, Science Translational Medicine, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He has reviewed numerous articles for the Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging and has been invited to speak at national and international events. Dr. Gorenchtein’s expert medical insights on healthy aging have been sought after and are featured in major health media outlets, such as Healthline, WebMD, and Medical News Today.

Dr. Gorenchtein combines evidence-based medicine and his expertise in aging with a proactive approach towards primary prevention of chronic diseases and maximizing longevity. He focuses on key health domains, including cardiovascular health, metabolic health, physical fitness, cognitive health, and psychological well-being. Dr. Gorenchtein applies the latest cutting-edge medical practices and traditional lifestyle strategies to develop individualized plans for patients to optimize quality of life and healthspan (not just lifespan).   

Dr. Gorenchtein leads an active lifestyle full of rich experiences. Prior to his medical career, Dr. Gorenchtein competed extensively in international Ballroom Latin Dancing, which took him across the world to compete in the largest competitions as well as living and training in Bologna, Italy, and performing at the 2010 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony. He loves outdoor sports, gym workouts, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He is excited to call Los Gatos his new home and looks forward to new adventures on the beautiful West Coast!
